Hengqin Advanced Intelligent Computing Center

Hengqin Advanced Intelligent Computing Center is jointly built by Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Province, Zhuhai City and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, which is one of the major research achievements of CAS’s Strategic Priority Research Programs. The whole center uses servers developed by Sugon and AI accelerator card (special neural network chip) developed by Cambricon founded in 2016 by Chen Tianshi, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, owing the advantages of large scale and autonomous control. Its computing power is stronger than that of the existing and traditional CPU supercomputer center.

The total amount invested and planned for Hengqin Advanced Intelligent Computing Center is 1.8 billion RMB, of which the computing power would reach 4 Eops (1 quintillion calculations per second). By the end of 2019, its computing power had reached 1.16 Eops.

Guangdong-Macao Advanced Intelligent Computing Joint Laboratory

On 25th November, 2020, the Symposium on the Construction of United Laboratory of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the Project of “Advanced Intelligent Computing United Laboratory in Guangdong and Macao”Lead by Guangdong Qinzhi Science and Technology Research Institute Co., LTD got the official approval to Registration. This United Laboratory was One of the First Joint Laboratories in Guangdong and Macao Receiving the Official Approval and the Only One United Laboratory in Intelligent Computing in China.
