Liu obtained his PhD degree in 2021 from the School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a postdoc in clinical medicine at Xiamen University. He has won the National Scholarship for Doctoral Students, the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Fujian Province. He was granted by the National Natural Science Foundation’s Youth Science Fund Project, the Postdoctoral Science Fund " Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program" and General Fund. His research papers have been published in Neuron, Journal of Clinical Investigation and Developmental Cell.
